The Walk

As I made my decision to go, I walked past friends and people that I knew. I walked on and didn’t stop to look back. I couldn’t because the cloud of thoughts in my mind. As I walked, I came to the first intersection. I had a decision to make. Go the way I know to the right or take the unknown to the left. I choose the unknown. he asked me why. Why? I am tired of doing the same things, tired of the same short comings and challenges. So I was walking the unknown path. I heard "Look down and tell me what you see." I looked  down and saw a path. It was broken at times but it was consistent. "I will walk with you and be with you. When your paths seem to disappear, I will be with you and help you still". I saw some sights on this road that would be helpful in the future. I came to the next intersection. I could go straight or take the path to the left which was windy and I couldn’t really see around the curve. I went to the left. As I walked it I was reassured that I traveled not alone. I almost immediately came to another intersection. An old dirt road. To the right led to the road that I saw before. So I took the left once again. I walked on the grass and dirt and was asked why I didn’t walk on the dirt road beside me. I was going the right direction but was causing more work for myself. So I went down and walked the path prepared for me. I walked past turns in the road and for the first time I lost sight of my starting point. Don’t fear I was told. I came to a lake. So I stopped and reflected. The stillness of it and the beauty overcame me. Thoughts once again but went away as quickly as they came. I left and was on that path again. I walked and saw houses. Some with their lights burning brightly. Some with just the outside light on but none on the inside. Some had no lights on whatsoever. A couple had the beautiful looks and devices to help them but yet their lights were off. This saddened me so. They represented people and the lights were for Jesus. But I continued on and saw my destination. My friends were there. God guided me to where I began. I will have my God and my family in the end. I stepped into that lovely light. Thank You Jesus
